I have numerous clients call me all the time asking whether or not they can get their license clear in Illinois after they have been revoked for life based on for DUI convictions. I have even set up a database of clients for me to contact who are currently banned for life and Illinois based on their driving under the influence of alcohol charges. Even if you never had a drivers license in Illinois but one of the DUIs occurred in Illinois, this will prevent you from getting your license back in your home state.
But there is no hope. The Chicago Sun-Times recently reported that a bill has passed the Illinois House of Representatives that will allow those people who have previously been classified as Lifetime banned by Illinois to obtain a restricted driving permit in Illinois. This does not mean that this is law, but it has gone one step further for the governor to sign. Once the governor signs the bill it becomes law and those people who had four or more DUIs will now be eligible to get their license cleared up in Illinois.
As a license reinstatement lawyer who has helped hundreds of people get their license back in Illinois and has had numerous successful cases with all types of risk levels, numbers of DUIs, and risk classifications, I am looking forward to the challenge of getting people who have previously been banned for life for license back in Illinois.
If you would like to be placed on our waiting list of clients who we can start representing to get their license cleared in Illinois, contact my office immediately so that we can begin prepping you for this hearing should the bill get passed into law.
