In Illinois license reinstatement something has been happening lately that is slowing down the process of getting the response back after informal hearings with the Secretary of State.
Approximately 1 to 2 years ago when I would take my clients to A formal or an informal hearing, they would receive the results from the Secretary of State's anywhere between 30 and 45 days. Very few clients ever had results beyond that.
Unfortunately, I have several clients that I took to informal earrings with the Secretary of State almost 80 days ago and we have still not received a response. Technically, this is well within the law as everyone is told by the hearing officers that it can take up to 90 days. This never used to be the case though as the vast majority of my clients found out well before 45 days.
It also seems that the Secretary of State is becoming more and more strict about any open tickets that have not been paid even if they are from other states and even if they are for very minor petty offenses.
