I have been representing clients who have lost their driving privileges in Illinois, around the Schaumburg and Chicago areas, for over 17 years.
People have often asked me how long will my license be revoked if I am under 21 and received my first DUI conviction. Here is the law…
Any person under age 21, may be charged with a DUI: if he/she has a BAC of .08 or more; more than .05 with additional evidence proving impairment; any illegal drugs in his/her system; or other indications of impaired driving. A first DUI conviction for an individual under 21 will result in a minimum 2 year revocation of driving privileges. A second DUI conviction for an individual under 21 will result in a minimum 5-year revocation of driving privileges.
This can expose an under 21 driver to excessive hardship when trying to obtain reinstatement. We can help with this process and get an administrative hearing to reinstate driving privileges.
