As a license reinstatement lawyer for the past 18 years, I have represented hundreds of clients at Secretary of State formal administrative hearings. I just had two hearings today and the most important thing that I preach to potential clients is that the way to succeed at these hearings is with preparation, preparation, and or preparation. Both of my clients observed what happens when a person is not prepared for an license reinstatement hearing…
They saw a gentleman being prepared for his hearing at the last minute in a mild panic outside in the lobby. Then he went into the hearing with his lawyer and the hearing lasted for over one hour. That is EXTREMELY long! A good hearing should take between 15-20 minutes! While we don't know exactly what went on at the administrative hearing, it is never a good sign when a person walks out after a long hearing with a bead of sweat on his forehead and has a red face. To me, that means he wasn't prepared. My guess is that his odds of success are very low.
If you are interested in obtaining a license reinstatement lawyer or if you have any questions about what it takes to clear your license in Illinois after a DUI conviction in Illinois or any other state, feel free to call my office at anytime to discuss your matter over the phone.
