Illinois license reinstatement-timing of results

As an Illinois license reinstatement lawyer with offices in Schaumburg, Naperville, Chicago and other places with meeting locations, I have represented hundreds of people who have been convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol charge and were looking to reinstate their driving privileges in Illinois. One of the most often asked questions I see is my clients who are finally looking to reinstate their driving privileges asking how long it will take. My answer to them is almost always the same… I can be ready tomorrow, how fast can you get prepared with my assistance.

For the vast majority of my clients I tell them to plan on 1 to 2 months of preparation before we are ready to apply for the hearing which means that the timeframe from the time they hire me until the time they are driving is between four and six months on average. Some clients take much longer. The good news is there are some clients that take much less time as well. I have had clients who retained me less than one week before the hearing and because they were able to memorize my license reinstatement worksheet that I developed for them and they had the good fortune to have the proper documents ready for the license reinstatement hearing, I was able to take them to a hearing very quickly.

Something that is happening lately is that it is taking the Secretary of State much longer to give informal hearing clients an answer as opposed to formal reinstatement hearing clients. On average, a formal hearing client can anticipate waiting approximately 35 to 40 days to hear that they were a successful result. In contrast, a typical informal hearing client is now taking almost a full 90 days to hear from the Secretary of State

If you're looking to clear your license in Illinois after being revoked for a DUI and you need a drivers license lawyer to help you, feel free to ask me any questions at any time by calling me direct.
