How can the Secretary of State of Illinois revoke my driver's license? As a lawyer who handles license reinstatement issues in Illinois, the statute that allows the Secretary of State to revoke is found at (625 ILCS 5/6-206)
If you read the statute, it shows at least 45 ways that the Secretary of State can suspend or revoke your license in Illinois.
The most common application that I see as a license reinstatement lawyer is when a person receives a DUI conviction. 90% of the time it is for a 2nd or greater DUI conviction.
