Client Approved for Restricted Driving Permit after 2 DUI convictions
July 2024
We just had a client who was approved for a restricted driving permit by the Illinois Secretary of State after having a formal administrative hearing to obtain driving privileges. The client had two DUI arrests with the most recent being from 2021 with a 0.16 blood alcohol level on the most recent DUI and a 0.14 BAC on the first arrest.
The client was listed as a significant risk classification on her alcohol treatment paperwork, and we were able to take her in where she testified that she consume alcohol one-two times per month with a maximum of one-two drinks. We also had the client testify to the indicators and criteria as to potential abuse and dependence issues she might have had. After testifying to having blackouts, hangovers, and an increase intolerance to alcohol, we proved that the client had addressed all of her alcohol abuse issues and could now be a safe and responsible driver in the state of Illinois.
Finally, we addressed the lifestyle changes that the client made, as well as the reasons that she had been abusing alcohol in the past, and we are happy to say that after our first hearing with this client, she was granted a restricted driving permit on the first attempt.
