In the past 15 years, I have represented hundreds of people successfully at an Illinois Secretary of State license reinstatement here. These are also known as formal administrative hearings. Many of my clients ask, after having been revoked for a driving under the influence of alcohol charge, whether it will make the process more difficult if they have a driving while license revoked charge after they have been revoked.
I typically tell them that a driving while revoked charge may cost you additional time on the revocation, but as long as we prepare them the right way for the formal administrative hearing, that they will usually be okay if they pick up one driving while revoked charge. With that said, several driving while revoked charges after the Secretary of State in Illinois issues a license revocation will pose a problem in that the client will need to testify at the formal administrative hearing as to how they will be a safe and responsible driver.
If your license in Illinois is revoked due to a DUI charge and you have picked up a driving while revoked ticket or have been arrested for driving while revoked after the DUI and you are looking for clearance of your license or are looking to obtain a restricted driving permit, feel free to contact John W Callahan.
