As a license reinstatement lawyer in Illinois for the past 20 years, there have been several changes in Illinois law regarding how to get your license reinstated after a DUI revocation.
One of the most recent changes to the Illinois revoked license permit process is that fact that if a Petitioner has 2 or more DUI convictions, he or she will be eligible for a 5 year mandatory BAIID permit in their car. The permit until this year was renewable every year for five years until the full driving reinstatement was completed.

The new law changes that annual renewal requirement so that now the 5 year permit is renewable every TWO years. This means that instead of having to obtain an updated alcohol evaluation every year, a five year BAIID petitioner will only need 2-3 updated evaluations and hearings to extend the permit before asking for full reinstatement.
If you live outside of Illinois or are an Illinois resident whose license has been revoked for a DUI conviction, you should always feel free to contact John W Callahan, LTD to discuss how to clear up your revoked drivers license in Illinois.
